Details
The Premium models offer the unprecedented large-area light field with a light intensity of 80 lux.

Under the main headlights are light striking LED dots, arranged in one or more rows. These are exclusively designed to signal other road users.

Traffic regulations requirements are always met - even in day mode because the headlight is then dimmed to the minimum requirement of traffic regulations.

Sidelights: Two of the signal LEDs take over the parking light function. Better than previous lighting solutions that are not aligned as signalling, but down on the road.

Proslight pattern and stand light
Tested on dark lanes and the beam gives plenty of width close to the bike and a central bright spot in the distance with a good fill in between. A few dark patches in the beam but overall very good.
superb beam, very well made

Prosamazing non-dazzling beam gives extra confidence on unlit roads
i have used the light on unlit country roads that have dangerous ditches and potholes and the illumination is as good as busch muller's own photos- the road is truly lit up in a consistent beam with no dark spots and you can set it to shine 30 metres or so in front and both sides of an average sized road are clearly visible. the beam horizon avoids dazzling drivers.it starts off bright but increases slightly if you go faster downhill but you won't blow the bulbs due to its overvoltage protection. the beam is better than b&m's non-premium version- imo spend a bit extra for this one it's worth it. it has a nice "standlight" feature which means the twin leds on the lower side of the lamp keep lit when stationery at traffic lights etc.very well made plus a stainless steel fixing bracket

ProsGood light, light, easy to fit
I replaced a cheaper B&M light with this as the cheaper light didn't really have enough lateral spread of light and not enough light full stop. Quick and easy to fit, wiring simple: the spade connections are quite tight but that has to be a good thing. It has a second set of terminals for a rear light.
I used it on a long two day from Edinburgh to London with lots of night riding and it gives a good safe spread of light. Once you get the inclination set it gives you enough distance vision to see what is up ahead and equally a good sense of the road surface immediately in front. The lateral spread is good too so in corners you are aware of the edges of the road. Thumbs up from me.

What does the "T" refer to compared to the IQ premium ?
By

Hi
Thank you for your enquiry. The day light running models from B&M are denoted by the letter T in the name. These utilise B&Ms unique Licht24 technology which allows bike riders to be seen better by other road users in the daylight.

Can this replace the standard Brompton lamp?
By
16 Jun 2021
Can this replace the standard Brompton lamp? Is this compatible with the Shimano hub on a Brompton ie re: electrical connectors and bracket? Also does this light have a manual on/off switch or is it wholly reliant on the sensor for switching?
Yes, this can be used, you just need to swap the plastic connector over for the hub. You will need to use the original bracket. This has a switch to control the settings.

Are the connectors compatible with a Son 28 hub?

YES- however, you will need 4.8mm spades to connect this to a SON hub- SJS part: 2870

Can you fit a longer cable ?

There would be nothing stopping you extending the cable, we would use a Sinewave connector.

If not can you recommend a good quality compatible headlight unit for the SP PD-8 hub.
Thanks.
Yes this is compatible, the hub requires bare wires.

What Actually Does This Light Do?
By
16 Nov 2016
I don't understand the description under "Details". The first sentence is fine - the rest seems to be gibberish. Please clarify. Perhaps you should supply the original German - it may be clearer.
Hi,

The important information is that there is an 80Lux output using B&M's IQ-Tec lens to give a bright well spread light. The lower mounted LED's in a row are specifically for the purpose of standing out to other road users especially from the side on. The light pattern has sharp cut offs to give maximum light onto the road surface.

Thanks.
Fitting

Dear Sir/Madam
I have a Viking Keswick 2015 and would like to mount this light either onto the crown or the handlebars, in both instances which fittings/extensions would you be able to supply for this light?

Regards
Mo
Hi,

This light comes as standard with a bracket for fitting to the fork crown. Handlebar brackets are available as separate items and these are SJSC part number 33640.

Thanks.
