Not as good as first thought

ConsNot as durable or repairable.
ProsCheaper and lighter than Super C panniers.
Initial impressions were good for the fitting system, size and storage pockets. However, when I broke the main compartment clip (entirely my fault) Carradice couldn't supply a replacement because the bags weren't actually made in house so I had to source replacements from elsewhere. Now, after using the bags for about a year, one of the zips for the rear pocket has failed and it isn't really possible to replace it. I don't consider the pocket was excessively loaded to cause the zip to fail. I have bought Super C panniers as a replacement although they are a bit bigger than required, but I know the clips are replaceable and there are no zips to fail.

ProsWell designed practical panniers
sjs had these art a great price and kept me informed of order status. Would definitely buy from sjs again.
Have used these in the few weeks since purchase. Very good stability on frame, easy to take on and off. Great to carry d lock/ chain and with plenty of space for anorak and groceries.

The external pockets are good for keys, wallet and other small items.
The shoulder strap is also a good practical idea.
Good to use a British company product.
Can't fault sjs or carradice. Recommend to anyone.
well constructed, well designed

Consafter few weeks none
Proslight, 3 external compartments, shoulder strap, one hand locking and unlocking
There was slight hesitation before the purchase, but I was looking for something with external pockets and shoulder strap and no much luck. They are very decent, and quite light. I do not have any problems attaching and reattaching, can do both with one hand and minimum effort (was bit worried reading other reviews), maybe the lock mechanism has been improved? They do not look like they will last trough 10 years of heavy use like my Altura panniers did, but for moderate every day use they are just fine.

ConsBit fiddly to attach / detach
ProsWell made, neat, good features
Being a good Lankyshire Lad, I'm a big fan of Carradice stuff and already have a couple of their saddlebags and rack packs, so a set of panniers was next on the list! Much as I like my cotton duck saddlebags, the Carradura stuff is a bit more contemporary looking than the Super C's, and I also prefer the single buckle fastening. The external pockets are nice and big, with plenty of room for tools, spare tubes, lights, snacks etc., and are easy to access so you can live out of them "on the road" and keep the main compartments closed. The large zipped lid pockets are a nice touch, and useful for maps / guidebooks / spare gloves etc. I haven't got the knack of the fixing system yet so removing them can be a bit of a faff, but I look on this as an additional security feature! Solid, well made, very neat panniers, highly recommended.

ConsSlightly fiddly to fit/remove
ProsWell made, look good, plenty of capacity
Very pleased with the Carraduras, having wavered back and forwards between cheaper and more expensive options. Really well made, very secure (although the fixing system IS a bit fiddly to attach/detach until you have the knack) and they look nicely understated.
Highly recommended...

ConsKfixis 'almost' too secure when fixed!
ProsVery well made. Capacious. British.
Very well made panniers. The Kfix system is very solid once set up. Getting a lot of positive interest them, being British made. Very good balance between load capacity and and overall weight. They give every impression of lasting forever. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

What's the width of the main compartment?
By
16 Feb 2020
Hello, wondering what the width of the main compartment is... will I get an 8" wide laptop in?
Thanks in advance.
H41cm x W28cm x D15cm are the outer dimensions. 8" is 20.32cm. Pretty confident this would be suitable.

Thanks - 17/02/20

Will these fit on a cube one 400 touring rack please?
By
30 Oct 2019
Hi, these panniers will fit most racks, but we don't have a Cube One 400 to test so we can't say for sure. Thanks 31/10/2019
Can these panniers be used on the front? I have a Tubus Lowrider front rack.
By

Set of rear panniers. Traveled with front panniers - they need to be relatively small to help your maneuver around objects, more space more gear which tends to overload panniers. Weight load distribution important factor.
Worth to look at e.g. 37492
Hope that helps with your touring plans
Many thanks

Can you recommend a mid priced (or cheaper) rack to match these panniers
By

Hi, I've got a disc brake gravel bike with rack mounts.
Can you recommend a rack that would fit my bike and suits the clips that Carradice use?

Thanks
Hi there,

With out knowing exactly which bicycle you have we cannot advise directly, different brands use different mounting points etc.

Thanks
Clips On Rear

Is it possible to get replacement clips for the pannier bags to attach to rack.
Two broken on set I borrowed and would like to replace before I return them.
Thanks, Ciara
Hi,

These panniers currently use Carradice's Quick-Clip fitting system which we sell the replacement clips for under SJSC part number 36470. However the older bags used their own C-System fitting which depending on the age of the bag may be, we stock replacement clips for these as well though under SJSC part number 28929. You will need to check which clips it is that you require.

Thanks.
