ProsCapacity. Bombproof. Light fixing loop
Bought this to replace an ortlieb bag which doesn't fit on my new bike. I needed it for general commuting stuff, phone lights gloves hat etc plus the odd bit of shopping.

You can't really tell the size from the pictures but it easily accomodates my daily kit, plus 2 pints of milk and 6 eggs!

I bought the quick release which works well although slightly more fiddly to get back on. Overall very pleased with my new bike handbag.

ProsDesign, quality.
This is the first Carradice product I've bought although I've seen many used by friends and fellow cyclists. It's an extremely well designed and build product that fits my handlebars (or under my seat) perfectly. The price is very reasonable with SJS delivering exactly when they said they would. Great product and wonderful service. Thanks !

ProsI like it
The colour of the bag matches my bike. It's bigger than the bag it replaced. I should have bought it a long time ago. It's more than adequate for transporting the items I like to carry with me when I go out cycling.

ProsTakes all I need for a day long ride
I was wanting a quality, UK-made saddle bag to take the stuff that usually has to be stuffed into my jersey pockets, waterproof, a pump, spares and map. There's room for more.
Used it with the Carradice Bagman QR clamp, really easy to attach and remove.
Usual Carradice product, superbly made.

These work perfectly as a small pannier on a pannier rack. Simply mount with the buckles inside and secure at the rear with a cable tie. So if you think saddlebags are old fashioned think again as these can be easily use as one, double or even with a rack bag on top!

ProsExcellent size and fits either on the handle bars or under seat
I have several Carradice bags panniers to bar bags, bought this to carry my tools. Carradice quote this as 2 litres, the actual volume is more like 3 - 4 litres as it can also carry enough snacks and a light weight jacket for a full days ride, can be mounted either under seat or on the handle bars.
Not used in the rain as yet but going by my other carradice bags this will not be an issue.

Delivery was fast in only two days and the bag was easy to fit and looks fantastic. Really pleased with my purchase and looking forward to using it over many miles.

ProsIt's just right
I have been waiting for such a bag for a long time. It has the correct color, size and quality. Easily fit on my Brooks B17 Std saddle, fits like a glove. I can have my spare tube, saddle raincover, water bottle, rainjacket, HP, wallet and also some snacks. Love it!

Cons3rd strap too short, snaps can be difficult to close
ProsLooks, size, robustness
Bought this to match the style of my classic audax bike. Perfect for fitting all you need for a full day ride. Can be a fiddle getting larger items in and out. I had to fabricate a longer 3rd strap because, with my Brooks as far back as it will go on a setback seat post, it wasn't long enough to go round the post.

Proshandyest bag ever
looked at lots of small saddle bags and this one ticked all the boxes, fits neatly onto my brooks saddle on my brompton, even when the bike is folded. really useful for emergency waterproofs and a few essential tools, no need to rumage around in my main bag to find these essential items. also looks good without being too eyecatching

ConsCould only get black colour as many stockist seem to be out of the green.
ProsTough, well made.
I already have several larger Carradice bags, but saw this and thought I would give it a try. The bag is very well made and ideal for carrying the essentials on day rides such as repair kit, tools, lightweight waterproof and snacks. Mine is fixed via the bag loops on my Brooks saddle. It is made of very tough cotton Duck material and is easy to reproof if that should be necessary. All in all an excellent durable product.

ConsCare with mounting to avoid your legs touching it while riding
ProsPerfect size for day ride
I saw somebody with one of these on a 200K Audax and immediately ordered one. Perfect for a day ride, for which the under saddle tool bags are a little too small, but pannier rack top boxes or bags are too large. Holds the usual tools, plus an extra tube, food, lock, cape and still room for a discarded layer of clothing on a winter or spring ride. Mounts easily on my Brooks saddle, although a little care is needed to avoid touching it with your legs while cycling.

Consyou have to keep it full or things slide around inside
Proslots of space and looks great
This is a great saddle bag which can carry all your tools and other things. I think that it is actually more than the 2L capacity it says it is. I carry a set of tyre leavers, multi tool, puncture repair kit, chain tool, couple small spanners, spare inner tube and few energy gels and there is still spare space.
Also looks great!

ConsStraps
ProsTough, Waterproof, Stylish
This was my first entry into the Carradice world and I love it! managed to hold my small lock and some sarnies and a few other items. The straps are tricky but I don't mind as it slows me down which is no bad thing. Heavy rain has tested the waterproof capabilities and it passed with flying colours.

ConsSnaps are sometimes hard to close
ProsGood size, easy access
I bought the Zipped Roll to use as a handlebar bag for a 800km unsupported race, but I strapped it to my Brooks the day it arrived and haven't taken it off since. With the springtime temp diff between riding uphill and down often 30 deg, it's great having easy access to jacket, gloves and hat. Lots more than 2L capacity. By my calculations it's closer to 4L. It holds as nearly much as the 8L stuff sack I'd been strapping to by saddle for a season and a half of brevets.

Conssuggested mounting method
ProsStylish, indestructible
Bought this as girlfriend saw mine in green and wanted one to go on her three-speed. Construction is of the same tough construction as the green one, the leather is a bright silvery grey and is quite reflective. Same issues as the green one with the tricky straps (see other review for that product), but very nicely mad, capacious and unbustable.

Will Carradice Zipped Roll Fit The Saddle Rails
By
10 Sep 2014
of saddles without bag loops?
Hi,

Yes, in theory you could attach it straight to the saddle rails rather than using a saddle with bag loops, this would be as neat but would still support the saddle just the same.

Thanks.
