ProsHigh quality
I cannot get excited about a bike wheel. However, it arrived ahead of the estimated delivery time, extremely well packed and therefore was in excellent condition. This was only the second wheel I have laced and it all went very well. I have ridden the bike on a number of occasions now and it is performing as expected.

Can you recommend a tyre for this rim? I've got a Schwalbe Marathon Plus on it right now but it's impossible to get it seated properly.
Any 622 (700c) tyre bewteen the widths of 28 and 47mm will fit this rim.
Which spokes nipples
By
18 Aug 2020
Hi, planning on using these on an old MTB 29er project. It has deore dx hubs and currently running 55mm tyres. Does this sound viable? Also which spoke nipples would you recommend?
Yes, this would be great. Use SJS Cycles part number : 47759

I have a Shimano deore XT hub, 32 holes.
All the spokes we sell are good quality, it just depends what level of quality you wish for.

Replacement For Rear Touring Bike Wheel
By
02 May 2017
Would these rims be suitable for a Raleigh Randonneur touring bike rear wheel? The old worn out rim is a Mavic MA2 which has worn through the braking surface? Can I re-use the original spokes they are all OK?
The bike originally had Mavic T261 but these were replaced with MA2's about 17 years ago.
Hi,

These rims will be fine for touring use on your bike. It is possible (although unlikely) that these A319 rims require the exact same length spokes as your previous MA2 rims but due to the age of them we would definitely recommend fitting some new spokes as de-tensioning then re-tensioning the old spokes will put a large amount of stress on them and given their age it is unlikely they will be able to cope.

Thanks.
