ProsStiff, tall brake track, 2 eyelet
I was selling Sputnik under Alesa brand. When a tough kid was coming with broken rim, i was selling Sputnik. I never saw one coming back.

Now, i needed 2 rims to build expedition touring wheels. In my mind, my first choice would have been Sputnik. I was more than happy to know they are still built. Can't find them in Canada but SJS sell them. They are stiff. Brake track is tall. 2 eyelet. Very nice tough rims!

Ryde/Rigida Sputnik Rims
By

Hi,

I'm doing a touring wheel build and I want to use the Ryde/Rigida Sputniks. I was just wondering if this is the CSS coated rim, and if not, whether you had it in the CSS:

Thanks in advance,

SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

This Sputnik rims is not a CSS version I'm afraid and we don't stock these rims in CSS. In 26" we have either the Andra 30 or Grizzly rims available in CSS.

Thanks.
Sizing Of Rigida Sputnik Rim
By
20 Jan 2015
Two questions actually =
1. Will modern 26" rims fit in frames designed for old style 26" rims?
2. What tyre sizes can the Sputnik rim be used with? how narrow, & how wide?
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

As modern 26" rims are smaller than the old style 26" rims (providing you don't run extra large mountain bike tyres) they should fit into the frame just fine. The only thing you need to be careful of is that if you're using rim brakes then the position of the braking surface will have changed so your brakes may no longer reach. As these rims are 19mm internally they can be used with a large range of tyres from 35mm up to 60mm tyres.

Thanks.
