What size is the rim on the trailers wheel?

What size is the rim on the trailer's wheel? Such as diameter and width of the tire seats. Would like to pick up some spares.

Thank you for your enquiry. The wheel size is 16 inch (305) & it uses a 16 x 1.75 (47-305) tyre, the numbers in brackets are known as the ETRTO size & is basically the metric size however these are the numbers to look for. BOB sell a complete wheel, tyre & tube on our item number 60053.

Bob Yak trailer with horizontal drop outs

Will the Bob Yak trailer work with horizontal drop outs and a Campagnolo Nuovo Tipo 127mm OLD hub? I am particularly concerned about the skewer slipping, as some modern alloy quick releases are reputed to slip with horizontal dropouts.

SON xs dynamo hub wheel for Bob Yak trailer?

Hi SJS. Hope you are all keeping safe and sane through this crisis. Can you see any issues with using a SON xs hub in the wheel of my Bob Yak trailer? Already have a front dynamo hub but thought this could charge a battery in the trailer as I go along. Any comments gratefully received. Regards. Neil

As long as the OLN of the hub is correct this should work- I've never seen this done so I cannot say for certain but in theory, this setup should work.

I have 3 bikes - 27.5," 28" & a 29" mtb's. Will this fit all three?

Fits 26 inch / 700c / 27inch wheel cycles, so yes, should be fine for all bikes depending on the axle type! If they are all 135mm QR - This trailer will fit from 126.5mm up to 140mm dropouts

With the correct Sturmey BOB YAK Solid Axle Nutz (SJS Cycles part number : 1075TS) but you may need to bend the Front Tow Arm Fork in a bit to reach, not as hard as it sounds. RT 13/04/2020

are the BOB trailers attachments wide enough or not???

One of your customer service responses was "This trailer will fit from 126.5mm up to 140mm dropouts." but the next says that you can use part 44420 to fit the trailer to a 12 x 148 through bolt which is clearly wider than 140mm, so which is correct? I am trying to use an existing BOB Ibex trailer with a 2020 Salsa Cutthroat that has a rear 12 x 148 boost through bolt. Let me know as I would like to purchase the Robert adapter if it actually works with my trailer or is another part needed for this to work?

Drop Out bobins too wide for bob fork

Hi, I have a bike with rohloff hub disc version with gates carbon drive belt. The width of the hub is 135mm, as the inner width of dropout, which has an outer width of 148mm. I am looking to buy a bob yak. So before ordering it (no possibility to buy directly from the shop where I live) I decided to rent one, and local bicycle rent shop has one. Sk went there and was surprised to find out that drop out plus bobins was way too wide for the bob trailers fork. I suspected that fork was bent, but guys from the shop assured that not, and that for usually fits 130mm internal width dropouts, and mine according to them is too wide. But I have checked in bob manual and it says that it should be fine up to 140mm internal / 156 mm outer width? So frankly I am not sure where woul be the problem? Is the bob teailer fork bendable to make tik wider? I need 28 fork.

Extra wide skewer

Further to Tim’s question about his rear panier mount and your suggestion to fit and pack an extra wide skewer, how do the arms on the Bob trailer expand to accommodate the extra width? How much would it cost to supply one of the extra wide skewers to Cornwall so that I can check that I can fit it properly before purchasing the trailer.

I am looking for a trailer that will fit on my 2016 Marin Pine mountain 1. The dropouts are 135mm inner and 145mm outer measurement . Would a Bob Trailer fit on this?

rear pannier rack. Is there any problem fitting a BOB Yak trailer, with the clearance between the lower pannier mount on the rear dropout and the trailer hook attachments to the BOB QR skewer bobbins?

Hi,

With the standard skewer supplied with the BOB Yak trailer there is a clearance issue yes, the point for attachment on the skewer site directly below the pannier bolt preventing the trailer from being fitted. There is a solution though and this is to buy separately the longer version of the quick release skewer and fit some sort of spacer between the frame and quick release. This allows the rear wheel to still be in tight but moves the BOB fitting points further away from the frame out of the way of the rack fittings.

does the trailer come with one QR skewer or 2? is it worth the extra money over the similar looking mwave trailer, in terms of build quality etc? I am looking for a trailer to use with thorn childback tandem for touring 26in wheels, and with my single bike 700c wheels for weekly shopping etc. thanks

The Bok Yak trailers only come with a single skewer but they are available separately if you did require another. The Bok Yak trailers are by far the best quality trailers available, but the price does reflect this.
