Is the housing compressionless?

Thank you for your enquiry. This kit is not compressionless, you will need one of the kits from Jagwire Pro kits for either Road or MTB which are supplied with their KEB-SL outer which is compresionless.

is there only 2.2m of outer? to go with 1m and 2m of inner

Yes, the average bikes front brake needs roughly 50cm of cable at max, and therefore most of the inner cable is cut off. The standard Shimano brake hose length for the rear is 1700mm and this is often cut down, so this should, for most, be suitable.
