Not for Gravel / Rough Stuff

ConsNot robust enough for off-road

ProsOk for road work

Fine for road work, but if you go off-road (Gravel / rough stuff / touring) the mirror dome will come off if it gets hit (I have now lost 2 of them). The ball joint gives good flexibility, but is the weak spot. If it comes off and you find it, you can force it back on, but this makes it more vulnerable next time.

ProsWorks with bar ends

Bought this on the advice of SJS to fit on my Brompton M type with Thorn carbon bar ends. Although small it works really well even when on the bar ends.

ConsYou will have to move a limb in certain handle bar holds.

ProsVery adjustable, not easily knocked out of position

Hard to knock out of position and a variety of views can be achieved. I have no issues seeing behind me using it on dropped bars although my arm does get in the way when using the tops.
If the mirror were much bigger I think it would then stick out too far.

Curb your enthusiasm. This is neat but not a solution for seeing behind. The mirror is too small and, since it doesn’t stick out from your handlebars, with drop bars is only really good for viewing your knee. None of this is sjsc’s fault, of course.

Will this work on flat bars?

I have previously purchased a similar B & M mirror (which has a picture of it installed on flat bars) however it didn't have enough movement on the ball joint for flat bars.
