The concept behind the Hebie steering stabiliser is to help stabilise the front end of the bicycle whilst parked. Without the stabiliser in place the front wheel can turn too far thus unbalancing the bike whilst the bike rests on a prop stand. The stabiliser prevents this happening making the wheel significantly more stable. It also helps improve the general riding comfort due to higher stability of the front wheel especially when riding with loaded baskets or bags. An added bonus is that wiring for lights etc are not damaged by being over stretched when the wheel rotates too far. A simple yet effective solution from Hebie.

Key Features:
- Simple yet effecitve solution for front end stability
- Stainless steel spring
- Suitable for tube diameter 28-62mm
- Spring length approximately 78mm
- Complete set includes spring, cover, plastic clamp and fixings
- Weight: 60 g

Fiddly to fit but functions OK

I recommend this product
ConsMakes riding bike slightly more difficult
ProsMakes parking bike easier
It comes with possibly the worst set of instructions I've seen. The diagrams are dinky and the most awkward part to fit (clamping a plastic block to the down tube) is not shown at all clearly. After you've managed to fit the block, the instructions become clear but it was a struggle to get to that point.
The stabiliser/damper works well when not riding the bike, it stops the front wheel/handle bars flopping around making the bike easier to handle. Riding the bike is a different matter. I've found I have to 'muscle' the bike around more, leaning into corners for example and have to think ahead more when riding in traffic, it's harder to make those delicate adjustments you need when negotiating tight spaces particularly those 3 stage chicanes they put on lanes to keep out motorbikes.....it takes a bit of getting used to.

ConsBad instructions, Clamp can mark up your frame
ProsCheap, Only one available, Works well
I added a front basket onto my cycle and needed a good Stabilizer Spring. This one was adequate. The instructions were all in German and the drawings were terrible, but the part worked well. The Clamp could have been built a bit better. It works, but there is alot of excess band left and the suggestion of folding doesn't work real well. All in All, its about a 4 in terms of function and a 2 in terms of install.

Will Clamp Fit Fat Tube?
By
26 Jun 2017
I have a Cannondale Bad Boy bike with tube fatter than the 32 mm max limit mentioned under the other Hebie Stabilizer. Can the stabilizer be delivered with clamps, or some sort of adapter, fitting fatter tubes?
Best regards, Jon
Hello,

Unfortunately this uses a specific clamping system.

Thanks.
