I recommend this product
This is the second one I've bought. On the first, the screw holding the chrome stem came loose (due to vibration) and fell out. suggest future users secure the screw with Loctite anti vibration "glue" or similar to prevent this happening.

ConsPoor instructions
Does what it sets out to do but the instructions could be improved. The instructions tell you how to take it apart but it isn't clear at first how to attach the band which could do to be a bit longer for fatter stems.

ConsNeed tools to adjust and set up
ProsVery solid and sturdy
Very sturdy and can be used as a handle! In my case it solved the problem of mounting 2 rear lights that when mounted on the angled seat post pointed towards the ground. The bar can be rotated relative to the clamp at 90 degree increments and the bar itself can be at 90 digs or straight

Can I use this with butterfly bars?
By

Would I be able to mount this on my stem and use it to mount a topeak bar bag on it using butterfly bars?
Thank you
This is unlikely to be strong enough for a bar bag, think lights / GPS computer.

Can I use this with the quill stem on my 2007 Claud Butler Dalesman?
By

I'm looking to mount my Hope headlamps to the drop bars on my Claud Butler Dalesman (read Super Galaxy) which has the "old" style quill stem and 1" diameter bars.
With the cyclocross style extra brake levers on the bars, and my computer mounted on the stem, the lamps are a tight fit. Mounting them ahead would be useful. Could I use the Topeak extender
Hi there,

As this will fit bars ranging from 22-38mm, it will fit absolutely fine on to your handlebars.

Thanks.

Dia Of Top Bar Extender Sjs 16049
By

This would be just what I need if only the crossbar were 22.4 dia. Isthere an equivalent, or could you tell me the material of the cross bar as I have a lathe and could turn it down if its suitable.
Hi,

Unfortunately there are no alternatives that offer the same range of adjustment as the Topeak. The extension bar is a mainly hollow bar of hard plastic so I would not recommend doing any modifications to it.

Thanks.
