The new V-Type 2 insert just got heavier with 1.5mm more pad material than the original V-Type insert and still fits most Shimano style V-Brake holders.

Features:
- Water grooves
- Salmon for wet and muddy conditions
- Rim friendly

An worthwhile upgrade from originals for narrower rims in particular

ProsCompound, thickness, design

This compound has been a favourite for a long time and the V2 version has useful extra thickness and does not have the unhelpful snowplough tip of the originals. For our Thorn tandems with 19mm internal width rims these blocks give a better arm angle with current Shimano V brakes we have at the back. I am using the second half of the block thickness at the front wheel where we have parallel action Shimano brakes - LX, XT or XTR of the early 2000s.

An alernative to Shimano?

Could these pads replace the my current Shimano pads with SJS part number 26866? The Shimano pads are slightly curved which helps them fit into the holder. Would these pads fit into the holder? I guess i also have to re-use the pins?

Can I use this with Shimano Deore BR-T610?

They take S70C pads which are a bit curved

Yes, these should fit as the use the normal Shimano pad fitment pattern.
