This is a nicely made pair of brake levers. However on the front is a small plastic piece, held on via a screw. This holds the part inside the lever that the inner cable is hooked on too. If you lose this screw you are SOL, no more braking for you!

Hi, I am hoping to use drop bar brake levers with my mechanical disc brakes (Avid BB7s).

Do I need this kind of brake lever, so that they provide extra pull? Or will a normal drop bar brake lever be fine? It's for a single speed so I don't need a brifter.

Thanks,

Mat
As these have the long pull ratio suitable for MTB V brakes then yes these should work with Avid BB7 (MTB version). However, as we have never tested this exact configuration I cannot guarantee its Compatability.

Thanks

Any Tips When Rear Lever Will Not Spring Back Into Postion?
By
12 Jun 2016
I bought these v brake levers and at last frame resprayed and trying to fit them. They did not come with instructions (problem 1) so it was not clear what the short pipe was for but fishing about I see your description provides some clue. Why are there no instructions available either on Dia Compe's site or yours or with the product? Front fits ok even without the short pipe. Rear is not playing ball - brake not springing back into position. Any tips would be welcome.
Hi,

The brake lever not springing back could be due to the cable getting stuck or the brake itself not allowing for a smooth return. The short pipe fits directly into the back of the lever providing a smooth cable line into the lever. If Dia Compe don't produce any instructions it means that there are no instructions for us to supply I'm afraid.

Thanks.
About This Item

Hi.
What is the difference betwin this item and the:
Tektro RL520 Aero V Brake Levers Black
and will it fit with Shimano Deore XT BRT780 VBrake ?

i'm riding a CX frame with drop bar and cantilever breaks, and consider to replace it with vbreak....

thanks for your time.

Eli
Hi,

They both work the same and will be compatible with those Deore XT BR-T780 V-Brakes. Aside from the obvious difference in colour the main difference is just in the shape which can be seen in the photos.

Thanks.
