As all the reviews stated these are how they should have been in the being. I think Shimano should reimburse us for having to buy these due to the original had a serious flaw.

SJS cycles where a good price and prompt delivery, no complaints there.

Works well and easy install with touch of hand gel. However Shimano should have discounted the price given originals had the 'bagging' flaw which led to there replacement at my cost.

Like usual, my original hoods were baggy. I replaced them with these and they fit just like they should, no slipping or baggynes.

Easy to instal with hand sanitiser gel, just get the old ones off and slip these on.

They were delivered without problems to Finland too.
Great upgrade from original hoods!

I feel shimano should have recalled the original hoods as they have clearly updated them, making them far snugger and adding additional undercut hooks to hold more securly. The originals were like baggy wellies after removing once. New ones fit great, feel great. Pro tip, use hand sanitiser on the inside when fitting. Dries up naturally and avoids over stretching the rubber.

ProsBetter quality moulding.
As others have said these are excellent replacement hoods that sit firmly in place and have a nice snug fit. These hoods are an improvement on Shimano's originals which tended to slide forward and become baggy. The new hoods have additional knobs of rubber that lock into the recesses of the shifter body and eliminate all the previous problems. After 6 months they are still looking as good as new.

Bought these as the originals went baggy and is a common problem. Easy to install in following GNC video as a few top tips given. Highly recommended.

A perfect replacement part for my ripped Shinano 501 hydro disc brake lever hoods. I must learn not to crash! Tip - use some lube to get them on. Nice tight fit once they are in place.

If you have the first edition of the shimano road hydro levers you will know how awesome they are... apart from the flappy hoods!! These are perfect fitting replacements.

original hoods came loose (apparently a common issue) and these fit very snuggly. when installing, use an alcohol hand gel and they slip on more easily than getting the original ones off! Look for the GNC video on how to install.

Hi, do these hoods have the moulded projections at the back of the hoods to fit round the annoying hydraulic union on the top at the back of the shifter body?

I have been trying to find a milan lime coloured one, but so far no luck,. I have RS685 levers.
Hi, unfortunately at the moment the only colour available for the RS685 levers is Black directly from Shimano, as yet Hudz haven't produced any replacement hoods for any of the new Shimano RS levers. Regards

Hi,

If it is the 11spd mechanical shifters with the hydraulic disc brakes you have, (quite often found on Ultegra level bikes) then these are indeed the correct hoods.
