Improved my brakes

ProsLook good , reasonable cost

I bought these to replace the Alhonga brakes that were factory fitted . I was never happy with the spongy feel of the brakes , new pads , cables and a overhaul did little to help . These levers now make the brake system feel sharp and precise , nothing wrong with the Alhonga's , I'll put them on another of my bikes .

ProsGreat lever, great price

These levers came as standard on my 2012 Carrera Subway and they proved so good I have used them on other bikes. The only downside is you have to remove grips to fit/remove but if you use lock-ons there is no problem. I have tried the Tektro Eclipse adjustable levers but they felt spongy in comparison. Keep them oiled and they will last.

Fitting With Caliper Brakes

Hi, will these work with your Tektro R559 Caliper Brake 55-73 mm Very Deep Drop Nut Fitting (item 24459)?

Hi,

These levers are designed for V-brakes so will not work with Caliper brakes, you'll either need to go for a set of levers that are designed specifically for Caliper and Cantilever brakes or a set that can be converted between the two types like SJSC part number 23909.
