Compatibility with Shimano T4000 v brakes

I purchased these to use with T4000 V brakes, but the first shoulder prevents the brake seating down far enough to engage the return spring in the boss holes. Are they meant to be compatible?
Yes, we have fitted these with no issue. We would suggest the issue is with the fitting of the pivot into the fork/frame or the tab location.
