ProsCost, quality, first time fit

I was building a Genesis Vagabond from Vitus Substance parts and had drawn out what I needed and was going to make one of these from a piece of aluminum.

Hi is this compatible with shimano brake callipers? It looks identical but thought it would be best to check.
