Finally a mechanical disc brake that offers superior performance and is a snap to set up.
The Spyre, a mechanical disc brake that offers superior performance with incredibly easy setup. This is a dual piston actuated mechanical disc brake caliper which provides precise clamping force. This translates into even pad and rotor wear because the rotor does not need to flex to one side during braking. We added a simple cable barrel adjuster to make fine tuning easy. All of this in an incredibly thin 40mm, 156g package, that works with any drop bar levers on the market. Rotors and adapters are sold separately.

SPECIFICATIONS

Dual sided actuation
Works with ALL cable actuated road levers. Compressionless (linear strand) housing is highly recommended
Comes with TRP ultra-grippy semi-metallic pads
Calipers are compatible with Shimano M525/M515 pads
Rotors and adapters sold separately
Weight: 154g per caliper

Useful note:
When installing new mechanical disk brakes, or mechanically actuated hydraulic disk brakes- we always recommend using non compression outer cables- such as Jagwire KEB-SL outer cable, as well as a new high quality inner cable. Metal cable ferrules are suggested. Also, ensure that when the outer cable is cut- the cut is clean and the internal is not distorted as to snag the inner cable.

Can I use these on an E cargo bike?
By
01 Nov 2023
I use a RadWagon 4 long tail cargo bike. I want to upgrade the brakes. Any reason these would not be compatible? I want to stay with mechanical brakes for ease of use.
These brakes are designed for use with short pull levers on drop bar bikes, if you are using flat bar brakes or long pull on your bike you will need the TRP Spyke 47326. SK 02/11/23

Hello, so indeed you can swap from your BB7s however be aware that these are POST MOUNT- and you may require an adapter to make them suitable with 180mm rotors.

Lateral distance between the disk slot centre line and the outside of the actuation yoke?
By
22 Oct 2019
I am hoping these might fit in the limited space inside the rack - my disk rotor is 10mm inboard of normal as I am using an XT MTB hub at 145mm spacing on a tandem but Avid BB7 will not fit.
Hi there,

This measurement is approximately 17mm.

Thanks.

Different TRP Spyre brake models?
By
12 Apr 2018
Hi, what's the difference between this Spyre caliper and the 'Spyre SLC'? I can't see any difference mentioned in the 2 text descriptions... Thanks, Sam.
Hi there,

The SLC has a carbon actuation arm for maximum rigidity, and weight savings.

Thanks
