ProsExtra protection, cheap

Nice item to prevent dirt ingress in exposed cable ends near the rear derailleur. Would recommend to fit these on gravel, cross and mountain bikes

ProsCheap, worth while

I added this to a customers rear Tiagra gear cable as it kept fraying. Changing the cheap cables for quality ones and adding this has solved the issue. Nice little addition to any bike I feel.

I guess this is added at the end of the pulley tunnel towards the shifter to keep dirt out?

Correct, they are to improve weatherproofing of the cables.
