ConsNone
ProsCheap, well made / bomb proof, does the job perfectly
Robust, big enough for even my most hare brained ideas. Have it bolted to my Ortlieb rack for running dual Hope District rear lights on the widest spacings and a Garmin Virb X in between. Overkill… yes. But I’m fed up with being buzzed and hit by idiot motorists in side streets in London.

Useful plate with holes in, I have used it horizontally clamped to a rack by P-clamps as a faster way of adapting to lamps than making my own plate. May change to its intended vertical orientation one way.

ConsButton head bolts and not a standard feature of the rack
ProsEasy, adaptable
After struggling to fit a rear light to my Thorn rear rack I was pleased to find this bracket. It was easy to fit and I'm puzzled why it isn't a standard bundle with the rack. But: I used the button head fixing bolts and they stand proud of the bracket and makes it hard to fit a rear light flush against the plate.

Will they fit a reflector mount?
The distance between the top mounting holes is 123mm. The distance between the light mounting holes are 80mm and 50mm for the middle ones and the lower ones respectively.

Fitting Cat Eye Bracket To Light Bracket Mark2
By
17 Dec 2013
Hi
I have a Thorn Expedition rear rack on my Thorn EXP bike. The bolts are 123mm apart.
I want to fit a Cateye Rear Carrier Mounting bracket in a horizontal position. I believe the fixing screws on this are 50mm apart.
From the diagram for the Mark 2 bracket there are 2 sets of horizontal holes that could be used for fixing a bracket.
Can you tell me
1 What is the distance between the bolt holes at the top , 123mm?
2 What is the distance between the horizontal holes for attaching the bracket.
Regards
PS
Hi,

Yes the distance between the top mounting holes is 123mm. The distance between the light mounting holes are 80mm and 50mm for the middle ones and the lower ones respectively.

Thanks.
