Set for mounting clamps on forks without eyelets. Suitable for all tubus lowriders except Duo. Unfortunately not suitable for mounting on suspension forks!

This is a very wonderful product. Strong and robust with excellent fittings to help secure your rear rack to the bike frame.This was the most perfect product for my needs and I can't hesitate to recommend this product as being incredible and completely fit for purpose.

I used these to mount my Specialised Pizza rack onto my Kona Project 2 forks, which do not have mid fork mounts. The adapters are easy enough to install, HOWEVER the supplied bolts will not be long enough unless you're running very thin forks. I suggest definitely buying a longer set of M5 bolts when purchasing this, to avoid disappointment. Would be 5 stars if they were supplied with a varity of bolts, especially considering they would only cost a matter of pence at wholesale prices.
I definitely recommend as they work well and I don't know of another product that does this job.

ConsAbsence of alternative (longer) bolts

ProsAppearance, quality and functionality

Look smart, good quality materials, function well.
Cheaper and simpler than replacing forks or getting bosses brazed on to the fork blades.
My only grumble is that, given they're designed for a range of fork blade diameters, surely either Tubus or SJS could go the extra mile and 'bundle' a second (longer) set of bolts with this product - at wholesale prices this wouldn't upset the profit margins that much, would it?

Consnone/if/you/have/normal/forks/

i bought the tubus mounts as they look nice and the supplied u bolts that come with blackburn racks are horrible.my forks are straight blade so the u bolts were no good anyway so put bigger bolts on which looked naff.i new when i bought the tubus mounts i would probably have to do some remodeling work as my forks are wide but thin as it happens i took about a mill of the insides and they fitt lovely and look and work great.look like part of the bike i would recomend them to anyone with normal diameter forks or anyone like my self doesnt mind a bit of work to make things fit with a spot of hammerite were i filed them out you cant tell the differance look great and sjs service good as usual thanks.

Can this be used with a carbon fork?

NO!! you cannot use this with a carbon fork as your risk cracking the fork and damage to the bike and yourself.

Can I use these mounts with the Bor Yueh Low rider rack?

I recently bought from you the Bor Yueh Low rider rack, to fit on my Dawes Kalahari which has Mid mounts on the front fork.
However I have recently had to switch bikes, and my BTwin doesn’t have the same mountings on the forks.

Are these Tubus mountings compatible with the Bor Yueh rack?

No the Bor Yueh Low rider rack fits bosses on the outside AND the inside of the fork blade. Take a look at the M:Part FLRB with Mounting Brackets & Hoop Low Rider (SJS Cycles part number : 35077BLK) see if they might fit your bike. RT

Larger size bolts

In an earlier question you stated that the clamps could fit a 32mm wide fork if used with longer bolts... what size bolts would you recommend and do you supply them?

The bolts used on this item are M5 x 25mm, we do stock M5 Stainless Steel Bolt Sock Head bolts on are website & these are on our part number 1828, if you input this number in to the search box it will take you straight to the item & the options available.

Will this hold with racks with no attachment to lower forks?

Will these clamps hold, if used with a rack mounting only with mid-blade mounts (and the fork crown hole)? Tubus market's this to be used with lowrider racks, which also attach to rack/mudguard eyelets at the fork legs? Will they stay firmly in place if without slippage?

Yes this is suitable to be used with most rack styles, whether they be a low rider or a porteur style rack.

Does This Mounting Set Fit A 32 Mm Fork?

The Tubus catalogue says that it is for forks with a diameter of 20-26 mm. I'd like to be sure before I buy it.

Hi,

With the supplied bolts it can only fit up to 26mm, but the clamps themselves are designed to take up to 32mm so with longer bolts this is possible.
