The Tara is Tubus' longest standing low-rider model. For 18 years it has been their best selling front carrier. It has been improved over time, making it even more solid. This is the most durable Tubus low-rider. Its simple shape and variable mounting allows it to fit to even the most diverse forks. When used in combination with the Cargo, Tara is the perfect match for long travel biking. Separate eyelets for mudguard mounting are also included. For the fat tyre section, Tubus also offer the Tara Big Apple.

Quality, you get what you pay for. A bit fiddly fitting to my new Genesis TDF 10 but achieved without any extra bits needed. I wont plan to take it off tho!
Top quality kit.

ConsOne of the more expensive carriers, but quality does cost.
ProsLightweight, strong, well constructed, easy to fit.
Bought this pannier carrier to replace one that I managed to wreck in an accident on our tandem. Replaced like for like. Surprisingly lightweight, but tremendously strong, the old one only bent slightly even though our forks were bent back through 90 degrees. Very easy to fit with all the required fittings included and clear instructions. Ortlieb panniers fit this rack very easily.

What is the best way to fit the Tara to the Nomad Mk 2?
By
15 Jan 2024
The braze ons are M6 and the Tara uses M5. Is a drill the only option? I will also have to fettle the spacers. Please add bolt size to the product description. Fitted my Mercury Mk 3 perfectly.

Is this ok for Trek ALR 5 2021?
By

Will it fit Trek Checkpoint ALR 5 gravel bike? Just want lowrider type front rack for ortlieb city roller panniers and no 'pizza rack'. Specifically these forks https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/equipment/cycling-components/bike-forks/rigid-bike-forks/trek-2021-checkpoint-alr-700c-rigid-forks/p/W1048861/
As far as I can see the fork for your bike is not compatible with this kind of rack, I recommend speaking to Trek for further advice SK 06/11/23

Will this fit directly on to the brazed on bosses on the fork with the existing 5mm bolts?
The M5 bosses isn't a problem, you MAY need some spacers/washers and depending on the head angle/fork offset although this rack does offer some adjustment it's possible that you won't be able to get the rack 100% level. Better to fit the Thorn low-rider SJS Cycles part number : 11576 which is stronger. RT 27/07/2022

Can i use this with a Yedoo Trexx scooter?
By
05 May 2019
Yedoo Trexx scooter has 26 inch front tyre, front fork, may or may not have fixings for this.
We cannot see that there is anyway to fit any kind of rack to such scooter.

Thanks - 07/05/19
Cab I use this with carbon forks
By
20 Mar 2019
I have no bosses on the forks for fixings will this work if not what do you suggest
There would be no way of fitting this rack if you have no bosses. To our knowledge, there is currently no carbon fork on the market that can take a low rider rack.

Will this rack take the Carradice carradry system?

Hi there,

We do not sell the Jamis bikes, but from a quick look it seems this would work. We have not tested / fitted one to give a solid confirmation though.

Thanks.

Does It Fit To A Thorn Nomad Mk2 Fork?
By
23 Nov 2016
Hi,

Technically yes, but not easily and without some form of modification. These racks are designed to use M5 bolts where as the Nomad fork takes M6 bolts. We still recommend the Thorn low rider for use with the Nomad fork as this has been specifically designed around M6 bolts.

Thanks.
