I am using Thorn 104/64 PCD Triple Crankset MK2 and want to run it as a double with TA Chinook 104mm BCD 4 Arm Middle Chainring 42t and TA Chinook 64mm BCD 4 Arm Inner Chainring 28t.
Just double checking that the 42t middle ring has the appropriate pins and ramps and will shift well with the 28T.
The chainrings do have shift ramps, the jump from 28 to 42t is quite large so shifting will not be a smooth as it would be with a narrower gap. SK 24/07/23
Bike fitter has suggested Shimano 9 speed 38 tooth Middle Ring 104 BCD. Is the Chinook compatible?

Is this compatible with a "Thorn 104/64 PCD Triple Crankset MK2 - Black" (SJS Cycles part number : 31813l170)?
If it is what would be the chainline if I just used only this chainring? (Would it be 54mm as that's the one I'm looking for for my Rohloff upgrade with the 110mm BB as described in the specifications for Thorn Cranks? )

Best Regards,
Otto
Yes you could use this, but we would recommend SJS Cycles part number : 11054S32 as it is designed as a single chainring. The TA is designed for 8/9 speed shifting and have two pairs of shortened teeth to assist down-shifting.

You should get the appropriate chainline if fitted to the outer position.

Thanks
