I've tried a few Clarks 8 speed chains in recent years - the price is good but unfortunately the quality is not. The links will regularly become very sticky, not running properly and giving the impression of a slipping chain. Dousing them in lube will loosen them for a while but it'll happen again soon enough.

My extensive experience of KMC, SRAM and Shimano chains is much better.
