bike chain

i have a handcycle, and need to replace the chain.
I need a 9 speed chain suitable for a deore/ shimano hub.
can i join two standard bike shimano chains to make a chain long enough for the bike? the measurements are: Larger (3 speed) hub: 44 teeth, Largest of the 9 speed hub 32 teeth, and measurement from centre of both hbs 76cm
if i can join two chains do the chains come with appropriate fixings to do this? or do i need separate fixings/ pins
finally, what tool do i need in order to fit the chain?

SJS Customer Service:
You can join the chains together, we do it with our tandem chains, the chains will be supplied with either a quick link or a joining pin depending on your selection, the HG53 makes an ideal choice. SK 05/08/25

Is it possible to fit a quick link into a shimano HG53 9 spd chain ? If so , do you stock them ?
SJS Customer Service:
You could fit a KMC 9 speed missing link- like SJS part: 50476 however we have not tested this specific combo to confirm it's a working solution.

Does this have a power link/ quick release link?
SJS Customer Service:
No, it comes with a Chain Connecting Pin fitted, you'll need to (perhaps) shorten the chain and then push this link through. the IceToolz Chain Tool for 5-12 Speed (SJS Cycles part number : 47767) would be a good choice. RT 080420
