Fine. There are videos on you tube on how to close the quick link without the fancy tool from Shimano - it is easy. One time did not use the quick link and just closed the chain with chain tool - the chain broke a few 100 km later. Whether it was the link I used the chain tool on or not I can't tell, but I guess Mr Shimano includes the quick link for a reason.

Is this chain compatible with 9 speed cassette and stronglight chainring

Thank you for your enquiry. This chain is only compatible with Shimano LinkGlide systems which is their CUES groupset, the profile is different to allow for different tooth design on LinkGlide cassettes.
