Which BB & Front Mech

Hi, can you recommend a BB and front mech for this please?
I will be running a 10-speed chain and 10-speed Dura Ace bar end shifters so no indexing. I’ll need a 28.6mm band-on. I’d be grateful if you could provide your part numbers.

Hi there,

For 7 speed, it will probably be cheaper to purchase a whole new chainset such as this one.
The older Shimano direct replacements have not been made for a long time and are fairly hard to come by.

This chainset is designed for 9-10 speed chains, the 5-7 will probably may run okay but the shifting may not be very smooth and we would not recommend it.

Will this work with a Shimano 105 FC-5504 groupset?

I need to replace the chainset and cassette on my 9spd 105 triple (52-42-30) groupset. Would this chainset work with the existing shifters and derailleurs, if I marry it with an XT 11-32 cassette do you think?

Although you'll definitely need to adjust your front derailleur, this chainset should be able to swap into the place of your FC-5504 without too many issues.

Is the first 28T chainring in aluminium or steel?
On the picture it looks to be in CNC aluminium, but I saw on other websites that it can be in steel.

Bottom Bracket Included?

The product detail suggests that a '115mm JP 400 bottom bracket' is included. Which one is it? (Make, model?).

Although these chainrings are designed for use with 9/10spd chains you should be able to use them with an 8spd Shimano set up without any issues.

Such as 48/36/24 or 46/36/24?

Is this crankset pinned and ramped for 10 speed drivetrains?

This is the only Stronglight Impact triple chainset we stock, the other ratio options that are available from our supplier so we could order in are 46/36/26 and 52/42/32. This chainset is indeed pinned and ramped for 10spd drive-trains.
