Poor Quality Control?

Consthreads stripped twice
Bought a set of these for my Raven Sport tour when I reversed the chain ring as the some of the old bolts had damaged heads. Fitted them using a bit of antisieze and a torq wrench but stripped one of the threads at 8Nm (the lower end of torque I found recommended for steel chainring bolts).
So I put it down to bad luck and bought another set. But the first of these I used also stripped before 8nm. Got another out the packet and tightened them all to 7Nm to be safe. Is this poor QC or is 8Nm too high?
SJS Customer Service:

Despite being some of the cheapest chainring bolts available these are still of a relatively high quality, you should be able to get them plenty tight enough to be safe. That being said 8Nm may well be to high for them but I can't say for sure I'm afraid as there is no recommended torque value provided for these and nobody here uses a torque wrench to fit chainring bolts. To fit them we'd normally recommend just using an Allen key and a bit of common sense.

Chain Ring Bolts For Alloy Chainguard For 110 Pcd Rings
08 Feb 2014
I purchased the Thorn High Quality Alloy Chainguard for 110 PCD Rings up to 44T Black to fit to my 44 tooth chainring. What length of bolt will I need for the increased thickness please.

SJS Customer Service:

If you currently only have a single chainring then you will need the longer double ring bolts, if you are running more than one chainring you will need extra long bolts like the TA Vega bolts.
