I recommend this product
ConsNone
ProsEasy to fit. Only slight adjustment to front mech. needed
An excellent replacement for the chainset on my 'hack' bike that does more miles in poor conditions than any of my other bicycles. Very generously, two sets of chain-rings provided (52/42 & 53/39). Good to see the name 'Sturmey-Archer' on the box. Would buy again if needed.

Replacement for Shimano RX100 52/42 chainset
By
28 Jun 2020
I want to replace the long obsolete Shimano RX100 52/42 chainset on my Moulton APB 14. This has a 7 speed cassette.
Would it be a straight swap? Or is there a better replacement?
Many thanks for your help and regards from Norfolk.
Bob Shingleton
In theory yes this should just swap in, BB needs to be about 107mm axle.

Thanks - 29/06/20
Does this come with crank bolts?

Hi, crank bolts are not included. Thanks
I need a new chainset for a Peugeot cycle, 20 years old, with 2x6 speeds.

The bike in question is a Peugeot, 20 years old, with 2x6 speeds. The Sugino cranks on both sides have major cracks in them, and so I need to replace both sides. All else is in good order. The chain wheels are integral, and have 52 and 39 teeth.

The bottom bracket shaft has tapered square ends with threaded studs. The length of the shaft less the studs is about 130 mm.

It looks as if a set you are advertising will suit. Do you think this would be so?

(I have recommended by a cycle shop that a Sunrace FCR810 should be a suiteable replacement.)

Does the set come with the left crank? If not, would you be able to supply, and how much.

I will also need a removal tool. Would you be able to supply, and how much if so?

Thank you.
the Cotterless Crank Extractor with 14 mm Crank Socket (SJS Cycles part number : 8129) will fit SR cranks and this chaiset is JIS square so it will fit your Japanese bottom bracket BUT 130mm sounds long for this more modern chainset RT 27/04/2020

Hi, this chainset is only available in silver. Thanks 17/04/2020
This would fit a Brompton, right?

Technically yes, but you will likely need to swap the bb and then ensure the bike folds etc.

Can this 53-39 chainset go with an 11 speed cassette, and an 11 speed chain?

I presently have a 50-39-30 chainset, with an 8 speed cassette,11-12-13-15-17-19-21-23,in which I purchased the cassette from you,the whole system has so far done 10,900 miles and still going, absolutely rock solid.Runs as smooth as silk.
R8 2/3 X 8-Speed Crankset
it won't be suitable for 11 speed cassette
many thanks

what length bottom bracket does sunrace r81 chainset need.
By
31 May 2018
Sunrace normally recommend a 107mm bottom bracket which gives a normal road centre chainline of 43.5mm.

Thanks
Hi Do you have the chainline measurement to the small ring ?
By
21 Nov 2017
Could this be used with just the small ring and stack bolts for a fixed gear set up ?
Thanks.
Hi,

Sunrace normally recommend a 107mm bottom bracket which gives a normal road centre chainline of 43.5mm so the chainline on the inner ring with this bottom bracket length would be 41mm. In theory it would be possible to use it in this set up but this is not something we have ever tried to be able to say for sure.

Thanks.

Hi what's the horizontal width (as you look down from the top tube to the ground) between the outer and middle chainrings as i want to use the rings for a sora crank (which is a triple)
Hi,

The space between the two chainrings is 5mm.

Thanks.

Please could you tell me what speed 8,9,10 or 11 speed will this work with ?
I am presuming this is for square taper bottom bracket ? Does it matter which type of square taper ? I have a British 1997 Raleigh racer, originally 7 speed hoping to upgrade to 2 x 10/11 speed bike
Does it come with crank arm bolts ?
Any more information would be great.
Hi, this chainset will work with 7, 8 & 9 speed & will work with JIS square taper bottom brackets. Crank Arm Bolts are not supplied with the chainset but can be purchased under part code #3455. Regards
