Replacement for Shimano RX100 52/42 chainset

							By Bob Shingleton

									28 Jun 2020

I want to replace the long obsolete Shimano RX100 52/42 chainset on my Moulton APB 14. This has a 7 speed cassette.
Would it be a straight swap? Or is there a better replacement?
Many thanks for your help and regards from Norfolk.

In theory yes this should just swap in, BB needs to be about 107mm axle.

I need a new chainset for a Peugeot cycle, 20 years old, with 2x6 speeds.

The bike in question is a Peugeot, 20 years old, with 2x6 speeds. The Sugino cranks on both sides have major cracks in them, and so I need to replace both sides. All else is in good order. The chain wheels are integral, and have 52 and 39 teeth.
The bottom bracket shaft has tapered square ends with threaded studs. The length of the shaft less the studs is about 130 mm.
It looks as if a set you are advertising will suit. Do you think this would be so?
(I have recommended by a cycle shop that a Sunrace FCR810 should be a suiteable replacement.)
Does the set come with the left crank? If not, would you be able to supply, and how much.
I will also need a removal tool. Would you be able to supply, and how much if so?
Thank you.

the Cotterless Crank Extractor with 14 mm Crank Socket (SJS Cycles part number : 8129) will fit SR cranks and this chaiset is JIS square so it will fit your Japanese bottom bracket BUT 130mm sounds long for this more modern chainset RT 27/04/2020

Technically yes, but you will likely need to swap the bb and then ensure the bike folds etc.

									Hi,
Sunrace normally recommend a 107mm bottom bracket which gives a normal road centre chainline of 43.5mm so the chainline on the inner ring with this bottom bracket length would be 41mm. In theory it would be possible to use it in this set up but this is not something we have ever tried to be able to say for sure.
Thanks.
