Chainline

The chainline on the thorn 150mm triple chainset is shown as 54mm. I want to replace a shimano Aluvio triple chainset which has a 170mm crank. I have a knee problem. The chainline seems big at 54mm, I think shimano are normally 42mm. Will this give me a problem? The bike is a Ridgeback Voyage tourer with 8 speed cassette.

SJS Customer Service:

I just measured the chainline of 5 bikes with triple Shimano chainsets in our showroom, they were all 50 > 52mm, quite probably you could use our chainset with a narrower b/b if you thought 54mm would be a problem for you. I can't see HOW you could get a 42mm chainline with a triple. RT 21/04/2020

Overall crank length?

I recently purchased the 155mm crankset which I'll be returning as the overall crank length is longer than 160mm stronglight cranks.

What is the overall crank length of the non drive side 150mm crank please?

The overall is 190mm.
