ConsNothing
ProsShoddy, rough & inaccurate machining, they look fragile
These may be cheap, but they are NOT good value for money. Shockingly bad machining that looks as though they have been drilled / filed by hand. Off-centre holes, rough aluminium surfaces. They say they are 'Forged' but I hate to think what they are forged from. Do not buy - they should be removed from SJS's product catalogue.

Distance from edge of spindle to spider arm
By
01 May 2019
I'm trying to source new crank arms and chainring for an old Raleigh with an AW3 rear hub.

I measured the original chain line and would like to fit a new UN55 bottom bracket. Choosing the correct spindle length and chain/crank combo is difficult without some dimensions.

Could you please provide the distance from the edge of a standard square taper sounder to the spider arm? Hopefully from that I can calculate the necessary sounder to give me the chain line I require.

Regards
Our advice is 110mm square tapered bottom bracket for double set up, for single ring use 107mm.
We are not 100% sure where you want the measurements to and from.

107mm or 110mm BB for single speed set up?
By

I know it requires 110mm BB for a double set up. If I'm going single speed, will 107mm be a better fit?
Hi there,

Generally yes, a 107mm should give you a better chainline, we cannot confirm this directly until fitted to your particular bike.

Thanks
