For cable routed down the main tube, uunder the bottom bracket and up to the unit, do I need a top swing or downward swing model?
Hi
Thank you for your enquiry, this derailleur is a dual pull version so will accept the cable from above or below. In this case it will be suitable for your needs.

Can I use this with a chainset 42/34/24, I'm just firing this which has shorter cranks but the LX derailleur fouls the middle ring because the derailleurs back plate is too deep.
Yes, "For outer chainring size from 42 to 48 tooth, total capacity 20 teeth."

Derailleur Front - Filter Options On Web Page
By

Hi, could you please advise me which one fits my needs?
For my recumbent I need a front derailleur - downhill, 8-speed, clamp on 32mm tube, capable to shift 61-50-38 teeth. I know I need a MTB shifter for that large difference, but which?

It would help if your page had filter options for 8/9/10 speed and top/bottom pull, and for large/medium chainring difference capabilities.
Many thanks for your reply, much appreciated. Marc
Hi,

Most Mountain bike derailleurs have a maximum tooth size of 44 or 48T so we do not know how well they would work with such a large outer chainring size. The average tooth difference they can handle is 20 tooth, but some can be used on 22 tooth differences again we don't know how well any of the derailleurs we stock would cope with a 23 tooth size difference. We have tried to offer a range of filters, but we cannot have filters for individual categories so we wouldn't be able to achieve this I'm afraid.

Thanks.
