ConsNeeds some TLC if used hard
ProsCheap but chearful. Only Derailleur that works with 48t cog
The whole Microshift ecosystem is great value. But not with out its flaws. I bought a gravel/commuter with Advent X as OEM in December '25. For the first 3500k everything performed flawlessly, admittedly this winter has been filthy, i noticed the chain skipping initially, so i changed the chain and cassette. Long story short: ultimately the joints were all stuck, (tolerances are tight due to the use of those rivet pins) after a thorough clean and grease it works fine again but i find the joints need lubing weekly now. Also the pulleys run on bushings, so they squeak and suck power - replaced with BBB bearing version. The angle that the cable comes out of the cable stop makes contact on the exit hole, enough friction for the cable to fray, will see if this was an install error when i change the cable. A lot of these will likely be resolved by the new MX version..?
