I recommend this product
Prosworks very well
I ordered this to go on a Peugot Le Mans that was salvaged from the tip 25 years ago, sold to a friend and returned in January ready for the tip again. Sadly, the original Huret derailleur had been replaced by a big, black Shimano MTB one. This looks much better and just about maintains tension across 52-34 front rings and a Sunrace 14-28 freewheel.

Would this rear mech be OK for a triple chainset on a road bike
By

chainrings are 52/42/30, and rear rear cassette 11-28T
Thank you for your enquiry, no this item would not be suitable for a triple

Will this cope with a total chain wrap of 28T, i.e. 13-25 rear and 34/50 front (12 16=28)?

Yes, this will be fine.

Hello, you said in a previous Q&A that this mech would only reach 28T because it's a short cage. Is it purely down to taking up the chain slack? In which case would it make 32T if there was only a single chainset up front?
This is due to the physical position of the upper jockey wheel, with a single, this may suit a 32t better, but we would say its likely not to work .

What is the maximum tooth capacity please?
By

28t would be the largest as its a short cage.

Thanks

and if not.. which one would you recommend ?

Hi,

As the spacing between the gears is the same on 5, 6, 7 and 8spd cassettes/freewheels you should be fine to use this derailleur with only 5 gears. You will need to make sure you adjust the limit screws correctly though to prevent you from being able to over shift it off of the cassette.

Thanks.
Can I Use With A 7 Speed Cassette?
