How do I extend my existing cable?

I have a B&M Cyo Premium Senso Plus that I used to use on a fork crown mount but my new bike has disc brakes and no fork crown holes to use, so I need a longer cable to reach the handlebar instead. Am I right in thinking I cannot replace the entire cable (it doesn’t look to be accessible at the body of the light) , so need to extend it instead? If so, how do I disconnect the SP connector and extend the cable? Thanks

Tis cable set comes with two female 2.8mm spade end connectors, you will need two 2.8mm male spade end connectors #39547 and some heat shrink #41991 to seal the connection, then cut the cable to length and add the dynamo connector as normal. SK 04/04/23

I have a Busch & Muller Lumotec IQ-X which I want to mount on handlebars, but the cable is too short to reach the hub.
Could I use this cable with male spade connectors (8024) to make an extension lead from existing front light cable to the hub?
