Does this work as a buffer battery?

I have a SON hub Sinewave Beacon - has anyone used this as buffer/cache battery to power eg a phone when stopped.
Yes this will work fine for this.

How does pass through charging work?

Q.C output is not supported while the NPB1 is being charged, the NPB1 input is 5V/2A, so while during being charged, the max output from the NPB1 is 5V.



For the pass-through charging, the NPB1 is sending the input power to the connected device first, then charge itself.

If the input for the NPB1 is sufficient, it will charge the outer device and the power bank simultaneously.

It’s important to note that a battery can’t charge or discharge at the exact same time. It’s impossible for it to do something like this because the current only moves in one direction at a time.This means the power bank is not actually being charged while replenishing a connected device simultaneously.

What actually happens is quite similar to connecting a phone to a wall charger. The very first thing that happens when you do this is that the phone will switch to be being powered by the charger. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be able to replenish the battery. What happens to the battery solely depends on how much energy is available from the charger and the power needed by the phone.
What is the minimum charging input?

In the manual, the power input for NPB1 is 5V/2A, which is the maximum input.

If you use lower input power, it still works, only will take longer time to charge it.
