ProsWell designed, well built steel frame. great value for money. Excellent customer service from SJS
I transferred about 80% of the parts from my Trek 2300 onto my new Audax frame & fork (everything for brake calipers, seatpost and stem) and headed out on a familiar ride to the north of Bolton. 30 miles and 860 metres of climbing on some shockingly poor roads.
The Aluminium frame and carbon fork of the Trek would literally vibrate my body senseless and by the time I could take advantage of it's rigidity on a local 10% climb, I was usually too fatigued.
Not so on the Audax. I knew it would be much better but what a brilliant ride. Its's so comfortable on rougher roads. 'Zingy' is the best word I can think of to describe the ride, and it's more relaxed geometry was a god send on some of the faster descents. Despite it's additional weight over the Trek, it climbed just as well too.
Overall, I'm very pleased I chose the Thorn Audax.

Does the size '495' refer to the seat-tube C to C?

I have had a look at the Thorn website sizing information. They seem to size bikes with two digits and a letter, i.e. 55M.
Thank you : )

Does this frame come with headset fitted as shown?
By

Do you get a full fitted headset if you order matching frame and fork? Is the crown race fitted to the fork?
The frame comes with the headset parts fitted but the bearings and crown race for the fork supplied separately. If you'd like to order both, and have the crown race fitted along with the frame prep, call the bike dept on 01278441505 to order. RT 16/12/19
