I have a S3E. I'm trying to work out. What does this item, the Brompton Lower Stop Disc Set, actually do? Is it redundant because I have no mudguards?
Hi, it is part of the fold locking mechanism. It stops the bike unfolding when you pick it up by the saddle or top tube when it's fully folded. It bumps up against the seat post, being made of plastic it causes no damage. If you try to pick up a Brompton with the seat raised it will unfold. Thanks.

Hi, every Brompton has this part. It is a 'bump stop' fitted to the back of the rear brake calliper. You should have one on your S3E. Thanks
