Compatability

I currently run SRAM EX1 but have a damaged cassette. Due to availability and cost of the XG-899 cassette I am thinking of going to 11 or 12 speed. Will this shifter work with the EX1 derailleur and a new 11 speed cassette?

You will require all components to match, so no, an 8 speed derailleur will not work with 11 shifter / cassette.

I am trying to change my drop bars to flat on a cannondale synapse

Hi,

This shifter won't work with your rear derailleur I'm afraid as they operate on a different cable pull. There is currently only one flat bar 11spd shifter offered by Shimano for use with road derailleurs, we stock these and they're SJSC part number 41215.
