Look good and work well. I was unsure at first about the mounting plates, which didn't seem as though they would cover the bosses, but in fact they look great.

These allow for very good control and don't come unstuck (they don't suddenly lose the friction part of friction shifting). Very pleasant to use with an old school setup.

Is this compatible with my build? Using surly long haul trucker (frame) and will be using 10 speed 11-46t and crank of 36-26t ? Thanks

Thank you for your enquiry. These shifters should work fine with this set up as they are Friction & not indexed & they will pull enough cable.

difference with the ENE version

Hi, what is the difference with this product (Dia-Compe) and the Dia-Compe ENE Down Tube Shifters? Would one be better with a 10-11 speed then then other? Thanks
The ENE models feature a more retro feel and finish than the standard versions, depending on how many speeds you are running the friction shifters might not work as there is not enough cable pull to work with some gear systems notably 11/12 speed. SK 20/04/23

It has fairly standard looking bosses but in addition (on each side) has extra thin and short rods that seem to interfere with a standard lever attachment. They are like strong wire that look like they should be used to hold a housing in place. Does this lever attach to a standard Campag boss.
We cannot confirm this for certain I'm afraid. They fit standard down tube bosses- im unaware that Camganolo has a specific design only for their shifters.

How Much Cable Pull?

How much cable will this shifter pull. I need 38mm for a Shimano Deore XT long cage, I'm not bothered about whether the indexing matches (although it would be interesting to know) so long as there is enough cable pull in friction mode.
Hi,

These shifters are friction only so they don't have an indexed setting anyway but they will pull sufficient cable for use with a Deore XT rear derailleur.

I have a 28.6mm steel frame without braze-on fittings. Will the Origin 8 fitting work with the Dia-Compe friction shifters ?
