Can I use with a Sturmey Archer CS-RK3 hub?
By Ben
18 May 2020
Any reason the left hand "front mech" friction lever would not work with a Sturmey Archer CS-RK3 hub?
SJS Customer Service:
You would have no indexing / knowing where you were within the hub indexing. We would not recommend it.

I’m looking to upgrade to 3 x 10 speed Deore in future, but would like to use these if possible to replace broken 9 speed Sti levers in the short term. Thanks
SJS Customer Service:
These can be used in friction, so yes!

Is this compatible with Dura Ace 7700 9 speed derailleur?
By thomas
29 Feb 2020
i’m on a budget an would like to share these bar-ends on 2 bikes. One runs a Ultegra RD-6700-A 10 speed (so that should work fine), the other is an older Dura Ace 7700 9 speed. Would these shifters work on that bike as well? For example, by using the L screw to limit the last cog? Thank you.
SJS Customer Service:
No, these are MTB ratio shifters, you need SJS Cycles part number : 19586 for the 10 speed. For the 9 speed; SJS Cycles part number : 38061
AND SJS Cycles part number : 38063

Lever material

The description makes it sound like the level is also aluminum. Is this correct? Or, is it aluminum with a rubber housing?
SJS Customer Service:
Yes, the lever is fully aluminium, with a rubber covering.

Can I use the rear with an MTB long cage clutch mech to make a 1x10 drivetrain for drop bars?
By Tom
28 Oct 2018
As above, considering using a bar end shifter with an MTB clutch derailleur for 1x10 or 11 drivetrain ideally with indexed shifting.
Any suggestions, please? Thanks

SJS Customer Service:
Yes this will work with any Shimano MTB 10 speed rear mech, if you want to use 11 speed then you could use SJS Cycles part number : 35340 and add in to convert to use MTB 11 mech and cassette.
