Developed to deliver smooth, reliable shifting under load, it features Shimano's refined XT ergonomics with a shorter lever stroke, improved paddle positioning, & crisp tactile feedback for enhanced control on demanding trails & e-MTB applications. The I-Spec EV mounting system creates a clean, integrated cockpit by attaching directly to compatible Shimano brake levers while offering a wide range of adjustment for optimal rider positioning.

- Compatible with Shimano 11-speed LINKGLIDE cassettes, including 11-50T options
- I-Spec EV version requires a Shimano I-Spec EV compatible brake lever (such as selected XTR, Deore XT, SLX & Deore hydraulic brake levers using the I-Spec EV interface)
- Controls rear derailleur shifting only (right-hand application)

The SL-M8230 is specifically engineered for Shimano 11-speed LINKGLIDE transmissions & is not compatible with Shimano 11-speed Hyperglide (HG), Dyna-Sys11, or 12-speed Hyperglide+ drivetrains. For correct performance, it should be paired with matching LINKGLIDE drivetrain components.
