I recommend this product
Consplastic...
Proscan expect to last 23 years? ...
replaces the same model which lasted 23 years on my gazelle bike (which i used extensively.)... i had done many repairs on it by melting plastic to fix cracks over the last 6 months, i finally declared it dead. replacement is great, as original. perhaps a bit of lithium grease will be needed in a few years...

Are all SA 3 gears shifters compatible?
By
29 Oct 2020
Hi,
I need an expert and I think I am at the right place here.
Could I swap a thumbshifter HSJ863 by an old school HSJ762? Or go rotary with a TSS37?
Assuming the shifting remains the same (i.e. the lengh of cable pulled is identical for each model), I believe the cables may need replacing too.
Rotary only works with Rotary, the shifters that work with Non-Rotary are not cross compatible either.

Thanks - 03/11/20
Can I use this with a 1999 Sturmey Archer AW 3 speed gear hub?

For your hub we highly suggest using this shifter: Sturmey Archer SLS30-T 3 Speed Thumbshifter - HSJ962 as we know this to work well with your hub.

Compatibility/Quality Of Sa 3 Speed Shifters
By
15 Apr 2015
I have a broken shifter appears to be HSJ823. HSJ962 looks better quality from photos but price the same. Is it compatible and if so what advantages? Is the classic shifter as available now basically sound? Thanks.
Hi,

The HSJ962 should be compatible, it is much more robust unit featuring mainly metal construction over mainly plastic. The actually use of the shifters will vary very little but the HSJ962 will be less likely to break and keep working for longer than the HSJ823.

Thanks.
