I recommend this product

Bought this to replace the one that came with my bike to work with a Sturmy Archer internal fixed gear hub. Whereas the previous shifter, identical otherwise, shifted between 3 fixed positions, this one moves more smoothly with the result that the gear hub actually works as intended for the first time since I got the bike 6 years ago.
Easy to install and, collisions notwithstanding, fairly durable. Delighted.

Can this be used on a MTB front derailer or is it for road bikes only?

Without knowing / testing a specific rear derailleur we would have to say its unlikely to work with any rear derailleurs.

Hi, will this fit inside old drop handlebars?

Hi, I'd like to use one of these with old drop handlebars. Please can you tell me the outside diameter of the section that fits inside the handlebar tube? Just want to check that it will fit, thank you.

Hi, the outside diameter is 18.7mm. The handlebar inside diameter needs to be 19mm. Thanks.

Could I Use This For My Cassette Instead Of Going For Indexed Shifting So I Have Friction On Both?

Hi,

We would not recommend fitting this on the right hand side I'm afraid, the cable pull would not work. There are right hand shifters available with a friction setting though so it is possible with the correct shifter.

Is This Really For The Left Hand

I Bought this with the expectation that this would complement the right hand shifter. But it is exactly the same orientation as a right hand shifter. Am I missing something?
