I have a pre 2017 Brompton that I want to convert to 6 Speed

Is this required because newer frames have different braze-ons and different way of working ’rear mech’?

Is this for pre AND post 2017?

This is used in combination with the shifter, the frame is the same unless pre 2002.
You can use the post 2017 anchorage and shifter.

What are the thin spring and the screw for?

I am in the middle of changing cables on my wife's well used Brompton from 2008. I have almost finished mounting new DR-cable, dogleg and spring and it all seems to work as it should. But I wonder: For what use are the thin spring and the screw in this set? I didn't find any of them among the worn-out parts from the old cable?
The smaller spring sits inside the dogleg, and tensions the head of the cable, the screw then screws into the end and holds the spring/cable inside.
