I recommend this product
ConsPoor quality.
ProsCheap. Simple.
Cheap but not so cheerful. It does a good job of fitting rear mech to an older frame but from past experience goes rusty very quickly. The thread on the bolt and collared nut on my example was very poor. So I had to cobble up a fix from the spare-parts box. Very frustrating!

I searched online for ages before I found this. Attaches a new style rear mech to an old frame with horizontal dropouts. It just dropped into place: it was that easy to fit, and my daughter has working gears again.

Will I need a derailleur adapter
By

I've purchased this as needed a new one and also got a Shimano RD TY-300 6/7 Speed rear derailleur.. Will I need an adapter to fit this or will it go straight onto the hanger?
Hi, this is for frames without a gear hanger. It fits into the rear dropout and is secured by the axle bolt. Thanks
Hi, will this work with a condor pista frame? Thanks, Chris.

These are generally for older steel bikes with semi horizontal dropouts, we do not have any experience of fitting to a more modern horizontal dropout, sorry! SJS Cycles part number : 36270 may be more suitable!

Is there another product for angled dropouts?
By

My circa 1991 GIANT 'Boulder's (US issue) dropouts are angled between horizontal & vertical.
I tried a SUNRACE one the same as this (it has a 29 degree offset..?!) but cant get up to the top two cogs of the 8-speed cassette I've fitted - largest rear cog 32T (I've upgraded from a 6-speed Shimano SIS (1991 issue) to Shimano Tourney TX800 (8-speed up to 34T).
Thank you..
Hi there,

Unfortunately, we do not sell anything like that I'm afraid.

Thanks.

Yes, this will fit to pretty much any derailleur as this acts as the mech hanger.

Thanks

I have a Simplex SX110 rear derailleur which was previously fitted to a threaded dropout on another bike. Will this bracket allow same Derailleur to fit the rear horizontal (threadless) dropout on my vintage bike. Thank you
Hi there,

Yes this fits most horizontal dropouts with a derailleur hanger.

Thanks
