Shimano state that this part is also an "A" match with these rear derailleurs. This means that the parts are the same in materials, appearance, finish & size etc.

NO- you would need SJS part: 40053 for RD-M8000

can this be used to convert a Shimano RD-M670 SLX direct mount rear dérailleur to a normal mount so that It can be fitted and used on my 2003 Rocky Mountain Blizzard steel hard tail frame which I am converting to a 1x10

This bracket axle unit is unfortunately not compatible with your derailleur, we do however stock the correct replacement for your derailleur which is SJSC part number 40063.
