Hard to tighten

ConsCan’t tighten them easily.
ProsComfortable
These are very comfortable grips and the Rohloff option is perfect for my Alee Dunham bars. But they are a devil of a job to tighten. I used my torque wrench and used the correct setting but they were nowhere near tight. Had to use an Allen key to ratchet them down more and they will still slip if I turn them hard. So, the tightening is poor.

ConsRohloff right hand grip could be narrow for some
ProsGood quality replacement for original rubber grip
Bought to replace original rubber Ergon GP1 grips fitted to my Thorn Raven Sport that were beginning to degrade after 10 years riding.
My only issue is that the right hand Rohloff grip is a bit narrow. I found out when fitting that St John’s had originally fitted a full size grip slightly cut down and therefore wider than the supplied item. In my opinion this is a better solution. My wife isn’t grumbling about her’s so perhaps hand size/width has to be considered.

I recommend this product
ConsQuite pricey
ProsEnvironmentally friendly, very comfortable,
I haven't had these grips long now but they have given my bike a whole new lease of life. My old grips have lasted my about 25 years and weren't 'ergonomic'. I have a 21 mile each way commute and with my old grips my hands would become numb during the ride. With these Ergons any problems have er... gone (see what I did there?). My bike is fitted with a sturmey archer 3 speed twistgrip shifter and the Rohloff/Nexus fits just fine with a bit of repositioning of brake lever and shifter.
