Transformed old bike

ProsExcellent replacement for straight and/or narrower handlebars

I had been riding a bike with a medium width, straight-handlebar city bike for a decade. The problem was that it had a (useful) front basket but once loaded the basket would make the steering unstable. Swapping to this wider gull-wing handlebar has completely transformed the ride. It is not very stable and way more comfortable too.

Good, but with limitations.

Beautifully formed, and the sweep gives a nice natural hand position if you angle them downwards, but I found they only really worked for one hand position, and sitting down in an upright posture, which made long rides uncomfortable (no good forward hand position), and pedalling when standing up felt very unnatural.

ConsAccessory mounting on tapered sections

ProsComfortable

Bought as alternative to straight bars which caused pain between my shoulder blades. Width is the same and just a slight rise but the swept back design is the key. They could also be flipped for a sporty look. The tapered sections while stylish do limit accessory mounting though.

Can you confirm what the backsweep is on this bar?
