Designed to raise or lower the front end to suit the rider.

These are suitable for the pre 2017 M / H type stems as a direct replacement with more width.

Made from 6061 aluminium.
25.4mm clamp.
Ergonomic handlebar with curve in design.
600mm Wide - with cutting markings.

ProsPrice and design

I bought this to replace an existing pre-2017 handlebars on a A line. Same height but longer and easy to cut down to the required size using pipe cutters, i only needed a few extra vms and this did the trick. The measurement guide is also really useful if you tilt the handlebars at an angle as I do. Great value.

I bought this because I wanted a slightly wider set of handlebars and having had a Joseph Kuosac straight set of bars for my other brompton, I find the slight angle more comfortable. These handlebars fitted easily. I cut 1cm off each end to ensure that they did not touch the ground when folded but this is easy to do as the bars seem to be Aluminium and it is marked in 1cm increments. Overall very pleased. Much more comfortable than my old bars. Pleased

OK for 1999 Brompton?

Hi, I think I should upgrade my veteran Brompton's handlebars as I understand the metal can get fatigue. Would these bars be a suitable replacement?

Rise?

The description currently says "180mm rise", but the equivalent black handlebar & the Kuosac website says "143.1 mm" - just wanted to double-check this is a typo (and not e.g. a different batch...)

I have a 2007 M3L, how is this handlebar different to the stock Brompton one

Is it possible to have the bars wider that the stock ones, or will that impact the fold?
Are these bars more angled towards you in the riding position than the stock ones, if so by how much?

SJS Customer Service:

The main difference is the width, the shape and height is otherwise very similar. Yes you can use wider bars, how wide will depend on the use of a rack / easy wheels to improve clearance, 600mm is normally a tad wide for the average set up, but you can definitely got 540/560mm.

It is unlikely you would be able to use this bar full width with bar ends, but we would need to test it.

Thank you for your enquiry, your best option would be to select the mid-rise Joseph Kuosac handlebars as all you will need then are the standard M-Type cables when you make the change.
